We as teachers are no longer the monarchs of all information.  Technology has provided access to most information we teach at our fingertips.  Students are able to find answers to questions that in the past they would ask teachers for.  Instead of block off and shun technology, we need to embrace it and use it in our teaching.  This is done using blogging, flipped teaching, video instruction, bring your own device, and a host of other uses.
In my classroom we use edmodo.com.  Students come in, get on the computer and log into edmodo to do their bellringer, then their assignment in on there as well.  Often they are able to view video tutorials and I am available to coach the whole time.  I know all my similar classes hear the same instruction because they've watched the video.  Plus there is no need for me to repeat myself because the student can go back and watch certain parts again, which saves my voice and saves me time.  My focus is spent on coaching the students in the concept.  Embracing technology really makes teaching more effective and efficient!
